Join a growing organisation as an Accounts Assistant, where you'll play an important role in delivering accurate and timely financial transactions across a portfolio of clients. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced transactional finance professional looking to develop their skills within a varied role, working across multiple aspects of finance in a collaborative team environment.

About the Role\n

As an Accounts Assistant, you will be responsible for completing a range of financial transactions for a defined portfolio of clients, ensuring all work is processed accurately and within agreed timescales. You'll support key finance functions including purchase ledger, sales ledger, payroll preparation, VAT and month-end activities, while maintaining excellent communication with clients and colleagues.

  • Process financial transactions accurately and efficiently across a portfolio of clients.

  • Prepare VAT returns.
  • \n
  • Assist with payroll preparation.
  • \n
  • Process purchase ledger transactions.
  • \n
  • Prepare and issue unpaid bills reports.
  • \n
  • Prepare weekly payment runs.
  • \n
  • Support sales ledger and credit control activities.
  • \n
  • Complete bank and weekly bank reconciliations.
  • \n
  • Perform month-end reconciliations and adjustments.
  • \n
  • Manage the client inbox, responding to, actioning and filing emails in a timely manner.
  • \n
  • Maintain and update client "How To" documents.
  • \n
  • Participate in the team phone rota.
  • \n
Key Requirements\n
    \n
  • Previous experience in a similar Accounts Assistant OR transactional finance role, OR recent Graduate.
  • \n
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills (equivalent to GCSE Grade 5 or above in English and Maths).
  • \n
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, including Excel.
  • \n
  • AAT, CIMA or ACCA trainee, or qualified by experience.
  • \n
  • Experience using accounting software, preferably QuickBooks, Xero or Sage.
  • \n
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel within a finance environment.
  • \n
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • \n
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work to deadlines.
  • \n
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
  • \n
  • Reliable, proactive and supportive team player with a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
