\n\nSubsidence Claims Consultant - About the role
\nThis role sits at the centre of the technical claims operation. You’ll manage your own portfolio of domestic and commercial subsidence claims, using your engineering insight, analytical mindset, and problem solving instincts to guide each case from first report to resolution. Every claim is a puzzle, and you’re the one who pieces it together.
\nWorking from home, you’ll blend technical authority with empathy and communication. You’ll translate complex structural issues into clear, confident explanations that help policyholders feel informed and supported. You’ll collaborate with engineers, surveyors, loss adjusters and contractors—always steering the process toward fair, timely and high quality outcomes.
\n\nSubsidence Claims Consultant – Key duties
\nTaking full responsibility for a portfolio of subsidence claims, from first notification to settlement
\nDiagnosing the cause of damage using engineering knowledge and evidence based assessment
\nCoordinating investigations, monitoring, repairs and mitigation strategies
\nCommunicating clearly and compassionately with customers, ensuring they feel supported throughout
\nMaking fair, balanced decisions that align with policy cover and technical best practice
\nDriving progress proactively to deliver timely, high quality outcomes
\n\nYou’re the trusted expert customers rely on during a stressful and uncertain time
\nYou get to investigate real structural issues and apply your judgement to shape the right solution
\nYou own your cases end to end, giving you autonomy and variety every day

\nWhat you’ll be doing
\n\nSubsidence Claims Consultant – Key requirements
\nA recognised professional building qualification (e.g., MICE, MRICS, MCIOB, MIStructE, MCABE) or active progression toward one. Relevant experience will also be considered.
\nStrong technical knowledge of structural defects and subsidence related issues.
\nThe ability to diagnose building damage remotely using supplied evidence.
\nExperience within the insurance industry and a solid understanding of liability considerations.
\nConfident negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to gain agreement from multiple stakeholders.
\nA problem solving mindset, able to evaluate complex information and make sound decisions.
\nExcellent interpersonal and communication skills.
\nStrong organisational and time management abilities, with the capacity to prioritise effectively.
\nHigh attention to detail and a commitment to delivering quality outcomes.
\nA flexible, self motivated approach and the ability to work independently.
