Systems and Reporting Accountant

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Finance Officer, Management Accountant, Financial Accountant or Finance Systems Accountant looking to take ownership of financial reporting, budgeting and finance systems while working closely with senior leadership.

The Role:

Reporting to the Finance Director, you'll play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, maintaining robust finance systems, supporting management accounts, and driving continuous improvement across the finance function.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing monthly management accounts and financial reports.
\n
• Managing budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes.
\n
• Maintaining and improving finance systems and financial controls.
\n
• Supporting the implementation of new financial systems and reporting processes.
\n
• Working closely with budget holders to monitor financial performance.
\n
• Producing accurate management information to support strategic decision making.
\n
• Supporting year-end accounts, audit preparation and statutory reporting.
\n
• Maintaining fixed asset and contract registers.
\n
• Delivering training on finance systems and financial processes.
\n
• Deputising for senior finance colleagues when required.
\n

About You:

We're keen to hear from candidates with experience in one or more of the following roles:

• Finance Officer
\n
• Management Accountant
\n
• Financial Accountant
\n
• Finance Business Partner
\n
• Systems Accountant
\n
• Assistant Finance Manager
\n

You'll ideally have:

\n
• A recognised finance qualification.
\n
• Experience producing management accounts and financial reports.
\n
• Strong budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis skills.
\n
• Excellent Excel and finance systems experience.
\n
• Experience improving financial processes and controls.
\n
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
\n
• The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
\n

Desirable:

\n
• Education finance or Academy Trust experience.
\n
• Knowledge of school finance systems including IMP, FMS or similar.
\n
• Experience supporting finance systems implementation or finance transformation projects.
\n
