Elevate Search is delighted to be partnering exclusively with a successful and well-established business to recruit an experienced Financial Reporting Manager.

\n

Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this is a fantastic opportunity for a technically strong and commercially minded finance professional to join a business during an exciting period of growth and transformation.

\n

This is a pivotal leadership role combining technical accounting expertise with people management. You'll take ownership of financial reporting, statutory accounts, external audit, financial controls and compliance whilst leading, mentoring and developing a sizeable finance team.

\n

Managing up to 12 finance professionals across multiple disciplines, you'll play a key role in developing capability, driving performance and fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture. Working closely with the CFO, you'll influence strategic decision-making whilst remaining hands-on when required.

The Role

Reporting directly to the CFO, your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • \n
  • Preparing, reviewing and approving journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • \n
  • Reviewing financial performance against budgets and forecasts, investigating variances and providing meaningful financial insight to the CFO.
  • \n
  • Producing management accounts, board reporting and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • \n
  • Taking ownership of the annual external audit process and statutory accounts.
  • \n
  • Ensuring compliance with IFRS, including IFRS 16, and maintaining robust financial controls.
  • \n
  • Driving continuous improvement across financial reporting, governance and accounting processes.
  • \n
  • Leading, mentoring and developing a finance team of up to 12 people, creating a high-performing and collaborative culture.
  • \n
  • Conducting one-to-one meetings, performance reviews and coaching team members to maximise individual and team performance.
  • \n
  • Planning workloads, allocating resources and ensuring key deadlines are consistently achieved across the finance function.
  • \n
  • Acting as the technical accounting lead, providing guidance and support to colleagues.
  • \n
  • Building strong relationships with senior stakeholders and budget holders across the business.
  • \n
  • Supporting finance transformation initiatives, systems improvements and process optimisation.
  • \n
  • Remaining hands-on whenever required, leading by example and supporting operational finance activities.

About You

\n

We're looking for an experienced finance leader who combines strong technical accounting expertise with excellent leadership skills.

\n

You'll ideally be ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, although Qualified by Experience (QBE)candidates with relevant technical accounting experience are equally encouraged to apply.

\n

You'll bring:

    \n
  • Previous experience as a Financial Reporting Manager, Finance Manager, Financial Controller, Group Accountant or Senior Financial Accountant within a commercial environment.
  • \n
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, including statutory accounts, external audit and financial reporting.
  • \n
  • Up-to-date knowledge of IFRS, including IFRS 16.
  • \n
  • Proven experience managing, mentoring and developing finance teams, with the ability to build high-performing teams and create a positive working culture.
  • \n
  • Experience overseeing multiple finance functions and coordinating workloads across a sizeable team.
  • \n
  • Excellent coaching, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • \n
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial information and provide commercial insight.
  • \n
  • A hands-on management style with the willingness to support operational finance whenever required.
  • \n
  • Experience using Sage Intacct or other Sage products would be advantageous.
  • \n
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • \n
  • A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement.
  • \n
