Interim Financial Controller

My client is looking for a hands-on Interim Financial Controller to join them at an important time in their finance calendar. This is a genuinely hands-on role — you'll be technically strong, but just as comfortable rolling your sleeves up and posting journals as you are reviewing the numbers. Initially for a period of 3 months this role could potentially extend for the right professional.

The Role

You'll play a key part in supporting the finance function across UK operations and a number of small European entities. Your focus will include:

• Supporting the production of year-end statutory accounts
\n
• Leading and delivering month-end reporting
\n
• Gross profit analysis and providing insight into margin performance
\n
• Managing intercompany accounting and reconciliations
\n
• Supporting day-to-day finance operations across the UK and European entities
\n

About You

\n
• Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent) with strong technical accounting knowledge
\n
• Proven experience in statutory accounts production and month-end close
\n
• Genuinely hands-on — you won't be put off by getting into the detail, including journal entries
\n
• Experience with intercompany accounting; exposure to European entities would be a plus
\n

• Hybrid working — a maximum of 1-2 days per week in central Birmingham office, with flexibility beyond that
