Job Description
The Company
\nOur clients are specialists in the Process sector; due to growth they are looking for a Materials and Production Planner.
\nThe Role
\n- \n
- You will develop and improve planning processes and organize production according to demand and quality standards, ensuring our goods are produced on time for distribution. \n
- Responsibility for planning and scheduling goods and materials ensuring there is a steady supply of materials to meet production needs. \n
- Create production plans prioritise production demand and liaise with key departments. \n
- Assess stock levels and ensure production needs and maintain agreed stock levels. \n
- Communicate daily any issues that may affect the production schedule. \n
- Generate timely stock figures. \n
- Develop and maintain good relationships with suppliers. \n
- Assist in ensuring availability of plant and materials to maintain on time in full performance. \n
- Accurate input of production information/updating spreadsheets. \n
- Work with the Purchasing Officer to inform them of purchasing requirements to meet the production schedule. \n
- Determine manpower, equipment and raw materials needed to cover production demand. \n
- Obtain output information (number of finished products, percentage of defectives etc.). \n
- Prepare and submit status and performance reports as required. \n
- Collaborate with other departments to identify weaknesses and close operational gaps. \n
- Responsibility for moving product to Warehouse in line with customer orders. \n
- You'll be ensuring that materials and components are available at the right time and in the right quantities to achieve production continuity. \n
- Work with Supply Chain Manager to implement service level agreements with suppliers and build KPI’s to measure supplier performance. \n
The Person
\n- \n
- You must be well-versed in production procedures and ways to optimize them. \n
- You need to have excellent organisational skills and be results-driven together with great problem-solving ability. \n
- Advanced communication and computer skills would be very useful for this role. \n
- Must have experience of working in a manufacturing environment. \n
- Experience in a similar role with knowledge of end-to-end process. \n
- Excellent knowledge of production planning, purchasing and quality control principles. \n
- Experience in MRP. \n
- Working knowledge of MS Office and ERP systems. \n
- Good at maths and statistics. \n
- Ability to show initiative in solving problems and identifying improvements. \n
- Ability to work accurately and methodically. \n
- Knowledge of Quality System Procedures and requirements. \n
- Understand ISO9001 and GMP requirements. \n
