Client Accountant (AAT)\n
£31,032 – £36,653 per annum | Full Time | Grimsby (Office-Based)
\nWe are currently supporting a well-regarded and forward-thinking firm as they recruit for a Client Accountant to join their growing team. This role offers a different approach to a traditional accounts position, combining core compliance work with a strong focus on client interaction, advisory support, and business development.
The Role\nThe successful candidate will manage a varied portfolio while delivering both compliance services and value-added advisory support, working closely with clients throughout their financial year.
\nKey Responsibilities:

- Manage a portfolio of clients including limited companies, sole traders, partnerships, and individuals \n
- Prepare and oversee year-end accounts, tax returns, bookkeeping, and VAT work \n
- Provide proactive business advisory and development support to clients \n
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a main point of contact \n
- Keep clients informed on progress across all areas of service delivery \n
- Review work completed by team members to ensure high standards are met \n
- Support, develop, and motivate junior staff members \n
- Identify opportunities to introduce additional services based on client needs \n
Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
\n- \n
- AAT Level 4 qualified (minimum requirement) \n
- Experience within a general practice environment, supporting owner-managed businesses \n
- Strong knowledge of accounts preparation and taxation \n
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills \n
- Ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues \n
- Strong organisational and time management skills \n
- Experience with cloud-based software such as Sage, Xero, or QuickBooks \n
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel \n
- Full UK driving licence \n
Salary & Benefits:

- £31,032 – £36,653 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications \n
- Employer pension contribution of 5% (on earnings above £6,240), matched via salary sacrifice \n
- Overtime paid at full salary rate and included as pensionable earnings \n
