Financial Controller
Job Description
Reed Finance is delighted to be partnering with a growing and well-established organisation within the manufacturing sector to recruit a Financial Controller.
\nThis is a senior, number 2 in finance, hands-on role within a dynamic and expanding business, offering the opportunity to take ownership of core finance operations while supporting strategic decision-making. Reporting directly to senior leadership (CFO and the board), you will play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, strengthening controls, and driving continuous improvement across the finance function.
\nThis position is well suited to a qualified finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys adding value beyond the numbers, and has experience working within operational or manufacturing settings.
\nDuties Include:

- Lead the preparation of monthly management accounts across multiple entities, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery \n
- Perform full balance sheet reconciliations, maintaining robust supporting documentation \n
- Support the budgeting process and contribute to the development of rolling financial forecasts \n
- Produce regular cash flow forecasts, monitoring performance and highlighting risks and opportunities \n
- Deliver insightful management reporting, including variance analysis, KPIs, and project profitability \n
- Take ownership of financial systems, driving improvements in reporting accuracy and internal controls \n
- Oversee day-to-day cash management, including receivables, payables, and funding arrangements \n
- Manage and develop a small finance team across transactional finance and payroll \n
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, including VAT, payroll taxes, and internal policies \n
- Support ongoing process improvements and contribute to ad hoc financial projects and initiatives \n
Requirements:
\n- \n
- Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, or ACA) \n
- Proven experience in a Financial Controller or similar senior finance role \n
- Background working within manufacturing or a similar operational environment \n
- Strong ERP system experience (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics 365 Suite or equivalent). Business Central would be advantageous \n
- Experience overseeing cash flow and financing arrangements \n
- Demonstrated experience managing or mentoring a finance team \n
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills \n
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to interpret and present financial data clearly \n
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels \n
- Proactive approach with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment \n
