Finance Manager

We are working with an established Freight Forwarder who have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Manager.

Our client is looking for previous within either freight forwarding, cargo, logistics or shipping industry experience required for the role, along with previous experience of managing a small team of account staff. Good Sage Accounting experience and AAT qualification or equivalent accounting training

Be able to complete a job start to finish, Role Involves.

• Oversee the smooth running of the Accounts Department and manage a team of up to 3 staff
\n
• Manage all aspects of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
\n
• Oversee Sales Ledger, Billing, and Credit Control functions
\n
• Complete and review Bank and Duty VAT reconciliations
\n
• Liaise with senior management and external accountants as required
\n
• Supervise the processing of sales and purchase invoices
\n
• Resolve account-related queries and discrepancies
\n
• Produce and analyse P&L reports, Aged Debtor reports, budgets, and payroll information
\n
• Provide regular financial reporting and updates to the senior management team
\n
• Recruit, Train and Employ Trainee/Apprentice to support position in Purchase ledger, as will need to fill this role until cover is obtained.
\n
• Be accountable and responsible for both Sales & Purchase Ledgers and accounts Team.

Person Specification

\n
• Proven experience across all aspects of accounts and finance management
\n
• Previous managerial or team leadership experience
\n
• Strong background within the freight forwarding, cargo, logistics, or shipping industry
\n
• AAT qualification or equivalent accounting training
\n
• Advanced knowledge of Sage 50 is essential
\n
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
\n
• Experience using Freight Net and ASM systems would be highly advantageous
\n
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
\n
• Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently
\n
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
\n

Monday to Friday 9am-5.30pm

Salary depends on experience.
