We are exclusively partnering a leading Financial Institution start-up seeking an experienced Head of Finance Data, Analytics & MI to lead its Management Information, Financial Analytics and Performance Insight function.

\n

\n

Reporting directly to the CFO this is a highly visible role responsible for transforming financial and operational data into meaningful commercial insight that supports strategic decision-making across the business.

They offer great flexibility being a predominantly work from home business looking for someone to visit their central London location 1 day per week with travel being paid for.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the Finance Data, Analytics & MI function, building a high-performing and commercially focused team.
  • \n
  • Develop and execute the organisation's Finance MI and Analytics strategy, aligning reporting with wider business objectives.
  • \n
  • Own the production of Executive and Board-level financial and operational performance reporting.
  • \n
  • Deliver insightful analysis across revenue, profitability, productivity, cost performance and key business drivers.
  • \n
  • Partner with Finance, FP&A, Commercial, Operations and Risk teams to provide meaningful insight that supports strategic decision making.
  • \n
  • Drive the evolution of reporting from historical MI towards predictive and forward-looking analytics.
  • \n
  • Lead the development of financial dashboards, KPI reporting and business performance packs.
  • \n
  • Support budgeting, forecasting and performance management through enhanced data and analytical capability.
  • \n
  • Improve reporting automation, data visualisation and self-service analytics across the business.
  • \n
  • Ensure strong governance around financial data integrity, reporting standards and data quality.
  • \n
  • Prioritise analytical projects that deliver measurable commercial value.
  • \n
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, evidence-based decision making and commercial accountability.

Essential Experience

\n
    \n
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) or equivalent commercial finance background.
  • \n
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric (highly desirable / ideally essential) or closely related modern data platforms
  • \n
  • Significant experience leading Finance MI, FP&A Analytics, Commercial Finance or Business Insight functions.
  • \n
  • Strong understanding of financial performance reporting, budgeting, forecasting and KPI management.
  • \n
  • Experience supporting CFOs, Finance Directors or Executive Leadership teams.
  • \n
  • Knowledge of SQL and modern cloud-based data platforms.
  • \n
  • Experience delivering finance transformation, reporting automation or enterprise-wide BI initiatives.
  • \n
