Our well-known client has a fantastic permanent Paediatric Occupational Therapist vacancy in their clinic. To provide specialist occupational therapy services to children 0-16 years at their clinic. Children

\n

may present with a variety of diagnoses including Sensory Processing Disorder, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Dyspraxia, Cerebral Palsy, Dyslexia, Speech and Language delay/disorders, global developmental delay, or neurological disorders.

\n

\n

Job Role:

\n

\n

•To be responsible as an autonomous practitioner to undertake a clinical workload.

\n

•To undertake assessments of children, using both standardised and informal assessment tools.

\n

•To demonstrate developing clinical reasoning and ability to interpret assessment data and write clinical assessment reports.

\n

•To devise child/family centred treatment plans through use of goal attainment scaling, considering a wide range of treatment techniques, grading activities to ensure that the individual’s full potential is developed or maintained.

\n

•To conduct 1:1 and small group treatment sessions in clinic.

\n

•To provide a high standard of clinical record keeping.

\n

•To provide an effective high-quality service to all children and families.

\n

•To communicate effectively with the multi-disciplinary team to promote the safety of children and the management of risk.

\n

Requirement:

\n

\n

Qualification:

\n

•Recognised Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy

\n

•Health Professions Council – Licence to Practice (HCPC)

\n

•Evidence of successful completion of a range of other short courses at postgraduate level

\n

•Evidence of attendance at other specialist course relevant to paediatrics

\n

\n

Experience:

\n

\n

•Clinical experience of wide range of paediatric work in clinical or educational settings

\n

•Co-ordination of intervention planning in paediatrics

\n

•Clinical experience of working with children with a wide range of needs including Autistic Spectrum disorders, Dyspraxia, Sensory Processing Disorder and neurological disorders.

\n

\n

•Excellent interpersonal skills – including observation, listening and empathy skills e.g., breaking bad news or explaining upsetting conditions to patients / families

\n

•Demonstrates excellent analytical and reflection skills at clinical levels

\n

•Well-developed concentration skills and ability to multi-task, and work with frequent interruptions of complex nature

\n

•Excellent presentation skills, both verbal and written, of complex information to other professionals

\n

•Demonstrates high level of computer literacy to enable effective data collection, report and document writing

\n

•Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills

\n

•Demonstrates ability to be a good team member

\n

•Able to synthesise and present complex information at a service level

\n

•Knowledge of the principles of clinical governance /audit

\n

•Understanding of the roles of other professionals

•Ability to work with the diverse needs of clients with complex communication difficulties

•Well established knowledge of a broad range of assessment tools relevant to the specialist client group
