We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our clients growing team in Redhill. This is an excellent opportunity for a practice-trained accountant who enjoys managing client relationships, mentoring junior team members, and delivering high-quality accounting services within a supportive and collaborative environment.

Reporting directly to the Managing Partner, you will take ownership of a diverse portfolio of clients while playing a key role in supporting the development of junior staff and contributing to the continued growth of the firm.

The Role

\n

As a Senior Accountant, you will:

    \n
  • Manage a portfolio of approximately 100 clients across a variety of sectors
  • \n
  • Prepare statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders
  • \n
  • Produce management accounts, VAT returns and corporation tax returns
  • \n
  • Act as the primary day-to-day contact for clients, delivering exceptional service
  • \n
  • Handle and resolve client queries promptly and professionally
  • \n
  • Support, coach and mentor junior members of the team, providing technical guidance
  • \n
  • Assist in overseeing junior team portfolios and reviewing work where required
  • \n
  • Ensure portfolio billing targets are achieved
  • \n
  • Maintain accurate client records and timesheets within CCH
  • \n
  • Deliver client work within agreed deadlines and service standards
  • \n
  • Identify and support new business opportunities
  • \n
  • Keep up to date with accounting regulations, software developments and industry changes
  • \n
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the practice to support overall business objectives
  • \n

About You

\n
    \n
  • ACA, ACCA, CGMA or CIMA qualification (fully or part-qualified)
  • \n
  • 2–5 years' experience within an accountancy practice
  • \n
  • Experience managing client relationships and handling a varied workload
  • \n
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge including accounts preparation, VAT and corporation tax
  • \n
  • Previous experience coaching, mentoring or supporting junior staff
  • \n
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • \n
  • Strong attention to detail
  • \n
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • \n
  • A collaborative and proactive approach
  • \n
