Job Title: Tax Analyst - Automotive Industry

Reporting to: Head of Tax

Location: Milton Keynes - Hybrid - 3 days in the office

We are seeking a detail-driven and proactive UK Tax Accountant to join our UK tax team in Milton Keynes. Reporting directly to the Head of Tax, you will play a key role in ensuring compliance across corporate tax, VAT, and employment tax matters, while providing valuable tax support across the wider business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare corporation tax computations, working closely with Accountants and Franchise Financial Controllers, maintaining robust supporting documentation.
  • \n
  • Calculate quarterly corporation tax instalment payments, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
  • \n
  • Prepare and submit the quarterly VAT return for the UK group and arrange payments.
  • \n
  • Provide practical VAT support to retailer sites, including VAT-free sales queries and ad hoc technical queries.
  • \n
  • Prepare and submit the annual PAYE Settlement Agreement (PSA) return and arrange payment.
  • \n
  • Liaise with external auditors (Deloitte), providing documentation, responding to queries, and supporting audit meetings to ensure clean sign-off.
  • \n
  • Support internal audit requirements, including bi-annual SOX compliance audits conducted by the US internal audit team.
  • \n
  • Prepare tax calculations and disclosures for inclusion in statutory financial statements.
  • \n
  • Assist the wider tax team with ongoing projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • You will be an organised, analytical professional with strong technical capability and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly advanced Excel capability
  • \n
  • Excellent attention to detail and high level of numeracy
  • \n
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills
  • \n
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the business
  • \n
  • Able to work independently and meet strict deadlines
