Service Manager – Homelessness ServiceSalary: £34,505 per annumHours: 37.5hrs per weekContract: Permanent Location: Shepton Mallet Role Summary: An established charity is looking for an experienced Service Manager to lead homelessness and supported housing services in Shepton Mallet. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated leader to oversee high-quality, person-centred services that support people experiencing homelessness and social exclusion to achieve greater independence and stability. You'll provide operational leadership to a dedicated team, ensuring services are delivered to a high standard while meeting contractual requirements, safeguarding responsibilities, and organisational objectives. Working closely with commissioners and partner agencies, you'll play a key role in developing services and improving outcomes for vulnerable people within the local community.Day-to-Day Duties:\n

  • Lead, supervise and support a team, providing regular supervision, coaching and performance management.
  • \n
  • Oversee the day-to-day delivery of homelessness and supported housing services, ensuring high standards of support.
  • \n
  • Monitor service performance against KPIs, contractual requirements and quality standards.
  • \n
  • Promote a person-centred, trauma-informed approach that empowers individuals to achieve positive outcomes.
  • \n
  • Build and maintain effective partnerships with commissioners, local authorities and external agencies.
  • \n
  • Manage service budgets, operational compliance and reporting requirements.
  • \n
  • Ensure safeguarding responsibilities are upheld and risk is effectively managed.
  • \n
  • Identify opportunities for service development and continuous improvement.
  • \n
  • Participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota to provide management support when required.
  • \n
About You:\n
    \n
  • Previous management experience within homelessness, housing, supported housing, social care or a similar support service.
  • \n
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate, develop and support staff.
  • \n
  • Experience managing operational performance, budgets and contractual targets.
  • \n
  • Sound understanding of safeguarding, risk management and trauma-informed practice.
  • \n
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders.
  • \n
  • Organised and able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • \n
  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle for business travel.
  • \n
  • Flexible to participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota.
  • \n
