The BusinessWe are partnering with a growing and forward-thinking organisation seeking an experienced Senior Credit Controller to join their finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded credit professional who enjoys building strong customer relationships, reducing debtor days, and driving cash collection performance.The RoleWorking closely with the wider Finance team, you will take ownership of a large and varied ledger, whilst also supporting process improvements and mentoring junior team members where required.Key Responsibilities\n

  • Manage and take ownership of a high-value sales ledger.
  • \n
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • \n
  • Resolve invoice queries and disputes efficiently to minimise payment delays.
  • \n
  • Monitor customer accounts, credit limits, and payment trends.
  • \n
  • Produce and analyse aged debt reports, highlighting risks and action plans.
  • \n
  • Conduct regular ledger reviews and escalation of problematic accounts.
  • \n
  • Negotiate payment plans and settlements where appropriate.
  • \n
  • Support month-end reporting and cash flow forecasting activities.
  • \n
  • Assist with developing and improving credit control processes and procedures.
  • \n
  • Provide guidance and support to junior members of the team.
  • \n
  • Work closely with Sales, Operations, and Customer Service teams to improve cash collection performance.
  • \n
Person\n
    \n
  • Proven experience in a Senior Credit Control or Credit Management position.
  • \n
  • Strong track record of reducing aged debt and improving cash collection metrics.
  • \n
  • Ability to build relationships at all levels internally and externally.
  • \n
  • Good understanding of credit risk assessment and account management.
  • \n
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
  • \n
  • Experience supervising or mentoring team members.
  • \n
  • Exposure to high-volume transactional environments.
  • \n
  • Professional credit management qualifications (ICM/CICM) desirable.
