Head of Finance

Head of FinancePlymouth, Devon£55,000 - £60,000 per annum

Our client, a well-established and rapidly growing business, is looking to appoint a proactive Head of Finance to join their leadership team on a full-time, permanent basis.

As Head of Finance, you will take full ownership of financial operations, strengthening reporting, systems, and commercial insight while balancing hands-on leadership with strategic input to ensure finance remains at the heart of business decision-making.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially driven finance professional to take the lead on financial strategy, enhance operational performance, and play a pivotal role in the company's ongoing growth.

The responsibilities:

• Lead and develop a small finance team, ensuring strong controls and best practice.
\n
• Oversee daily finance operations and accounting processes.
\n
• Deliver accurate and timely monthly management reporting.
\n
• Drive improvements across systems, processes, and financial efficiency.
\n
• Produce insightful MI, KPI reporting, and commercial analysis.
\n
• Manage cash flow, budgets, and working capital planning.
\n
• Provide financial insight to support strategic business decisions.
\n
• Partner with senior leadership to improve performance and growth.
\n
• Manage external relationships covering audit, tax, and compliance matters.
\n

The candidate:

\n
• A professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with 3+ years' post-qualified experience.
\n
• A confident, hands-on finance leader who can operate effectively at both a strategic and operational level.
\n
• Experience within a multi-site or product-led environment would be highly advantageous.
\n
• Strong Excel modelling, analytical, and management reporting capabilities.
\n
• A commercially driven, adaptable approach with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced SME environment.
