The Role

We are looking for a talented Bid Manager to join our growing Business Development team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead high-value bids from qualification through to contract award, helping shape the future growth of a leading engineering business supporting the defence and maritime sectors.

What you will be doing:

\n
• Managing the complete bid lifecycle from opportunity qualification through to submission, contract award and handover.
\n
• Developing winning bid strategies that drive business growth and maximise win rates.
\n
• Acting as the primary customer contact throughout the bid process.
\n
• Leading bid kick-off meetings, managing bid plans, reviews and submission deadlines.
\n
• Coordinating cross-functional teams across Engineering, Commercial, Project Management, Supply Chain and Operations.
\n
• Preparing compelling technical and commercial proposals, delivery plans and tender responses.
\n
• Managing customer onboarding, due diligence and CRM opportunities.
\n
• Supporting smooth project handovers and coordinating future resource requirements.
\n
• Driving continuous improvement of bid processes and best practice.
\n

What we are looking for:

\n
• Proven Bid Management experience, ideally within the Defence, Maritime or Aerospace sectors.
\n
• Experience working within a complex engineering or technical environment.
\n
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
\n
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple bids under tight deadlines.
\n
• Strong written communication and proposal writing skills.
\n
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) and CRM systems (Dynamics desirable).
\n
• A collaborative team player with excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills.
\n
