Bells of Lazonby have an exciting opportunity for a Food Production Operative to join the team.

\nSalary: From £13.25 per hour, plus 25% overtime rates
\nJob Type: Full - Time, Permanent
\nSchedule: Various shift patterns available (must be able to work Saturdays on rotation)

\n\nAt Bells of Lazonby, baking has been at the heart of what we do since 1946. Still independently owned by the Bell family, we combine craft skills with large-scale production to create products we’re proud of, and we know the secret ingredient behind our success is our people. We have two bakeries on site in Lazonby – a conventional bakery and a dedicated “free from” bakery, from which we supply many high street coffee shops and major supermarkets with sweet bakery treats, such as cakes, traybakes, pies and tarts.
\n\nFood Production Operative - Job Overview:
\n\nWe are looking for a dedicated Gluten Free Production Operative to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating machinery and assembling food products in a fast-paced environment. The role requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to work effectively within a team to meet production goals.
\n\nPlease note that the role involves heavy manual labour and standing for long periods of time therefore physical strength and dexterity is important.
\n\nShifts Available:
\n\nHours are 38.75 per week. Shifts will be a mixture of 4am to 12.15pm and 6am to 2.15pm, depending on production needs. Transport to work is available for candidates living in Penrith only.
\n\nFood Production Operative - The Role:
\n\n- Follow work instructions and recipes to complete tasks efficiently
\n- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth production
\n- Operate food production equipment safely and effectively
\n- Work on different production lines as required
\n- Weighing and checking raw materials before production
\n- Ensuring correct product labelling and packaging
\n- Complete quality and safety paperwork as necessary
\n- Ensure products meet the required quality standards
\n- Reporting any faults or issues with machinery to supervisors
\n\nFood Production Operative - You:
\n\n- Physically fit and dexterous to perform manual handling tasks
\n- Ability to speak and understand English
\n- Good communication and teamwork skills
\n- Able to maintain focus on repetitive tasks
\n- Excellent attention to detail
\n- Physically fit and able to perform manual handling tasks
\n- Flexible with work duties and willing to adapt as needed
