Finance and Admin Assistant
Job Description
Redhill, Surrey (office-based) | £30,000 | 30 hours a week, Monday–Friday
\nOur client is a growing, well-established road surfacing and infrastructure business, working with local authorities and commercial clients across the region. They're looking for an experienced Accounts Payable / Purchase Ledger Assistant to join their busy office and finance team.
\nYou'll take ownership of the purchase ledger — processing supplier invoices for materials, plant hire and subcontractors, matching them to purchase orders and delivery notes, and keeping supplier accounts reconciled and queries resolved. Alongside this, you'll provide day-to-day admin support to the operations team, helping keep the office running smoothly.
\nWhat you'll be doing

- Processing and coding supplier invoices (materials, plant hire, subcontractors) \n
- Matching invoices to purchase orders and delivery notes \n
- Reconciling supplier statements and resolving queries \n
- Preparing weekly and monthly payment runs \n
- Supporting month-end finance processes \n
- Maintaining organised job and finance records \n
- Managing correspondence, filing, and office supplies \n
- Carrying out accurate data entry to keep records up to date \n
- Handling incoming calls professionally, directing enquiries as needed \n
- Keeping the workspace organised to support a productive office \n
- Collaborating with the team on ad hoc admin projects \n
What we're looking for
\n- \n
- Experience in accounts payable or purchase ledger \n
- Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy \n
- Confident using Excel and finance systems — SAGE 50 Accounts experience preferred \n
- Good communication skills \n
- Good experience in accounting/finance \n
- Strong admin/customer service experience (preferred) \n
- Comfortable managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment \n
- Construction or highways experience is a bonus, but not essential \n
