We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business for an experienced Assembly Technician to join their close-knit production team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled and meticulous technician to work on precision mechanical components in a stable, permanent role within a specialist sector.

\n

As the Assembly Technician you will be working as part of a small manufacturing team, assembling and testing a range of mechanical components and sub-assemblies from technical drawings and build instructions. The ability to work unsupervised, to a consistently high standard, is essential. This is a hands-on, skilled position where precision and reliability are everything.

What You'll Be Doing

  • \n

    Assembling small, medium and large mechanical components from engineering drawings and build instructions

  • \n
  • \n

    Testing part-assembled and finished products against defined test specifications

  • \n
  • \n

    Inspecting parts and identifying defects before and during the manufacturing process

  • \n
  • \n

    Setting up and operating manufacturing equipment in line with instructions

  • \n
  • \n

    Diagnosing faults and carrying out basic part repairs where necessary

  • \n
  • \n

    Ensuring consistent build quality and helping to meet production timelines

  • \n

What We're Looking For

    \n
  • \n

    Relevant mechanical assembly experience at a skilled level

  • \n
  • \n

    Confident reading and working from technical drawings and build instructions without supervision

  • \n
  • \n

    Strong fault-finding skills with the ability to repair basic components

  • \n
  • \n

    Understanding of Works Orders and the Picking process in a manufacturing environment

  • \n
  • \n

    Excellent manual dexterity, consistency, and attention to detail

  • \n
  • \n

    Ability to test sub-assemblies and finished products to specific test procedures

  • \n
  • \n

    Recognised apprenticeship or relevant BTEC (or equivalent) and basic electrical experience would also be great to have but not essential.
