Fabricator / Welder

MERITUS are recruiting for a Fabricator / Welder to join our client within the Systems Integration sphere to support clients across Aerospace, Manufacturing, FMCG and Agriculture.

FABRICATOR / WELDER - £28,000 - £35,000 PER ANNUM - TELFORD, SHROPSHIRE + OPPORTUNITIES TO TRAVEL TO JAPAN, EUROPE, USA - FAST PROCESS - SECTOR: AEROSPACE / SYSTEMS INTEGRATION

You'll be responsible for the fabrication and assembly of sheet metal components, working from detailed engineering drawings to produce high-quality parts to tight tolerances.

The role involves both fabrication and welding activities, with a strong focus on accuracy, consistency, and quality workmanship.

• Read and interpret engineering and technical drawings to manufacture sheet metal components.
\n
• Carry out sheet metal forming and bending, including correct bend allowance calculations.
\n
• Perform MIG welding (and TIG or spot welding where required).
\n
• Manufacture components to tight dimensional tolerances.
\n
• Ensure all fabricated parts meet required quality standards with minimal rework.
\n
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
\n
• Support wider production and fabrication activities as required by the Supervisor or Manufacturing Manager.

We're looking for a skilled fabricator with strong hands-on experience in sheet metal work and welding.

You'll ideally have:

• Proven experience in a fabrication or sheet metal environment.
\n
• Strong MIG welding experience (TIG/spot welding beneficial).
\n
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings confidently.
\n
• Good understanding of bend allowances, tolerances and material behaviour.
\n
• Ability to work accurately to tight specifications.
\n
• NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Fabrication & Welding (or equivalent) desirable.
