Altum Consulting are supporting a large, international organisation in the appointment of a commercially minded Senior Finance Business Partner.

\n

This is a highly visible role acting as the key finance partner to the Group Data & Technology function and Group CTO. The successful candidate will provide high-quality financial insight, challenge and decision support across a substantial technology and central overhead portfolio.

\n

The role will be responsible for improving financial management across Data & Technology, strengthening forecasting accuracy, supporting investment prioritisation and ensuring technology spend delivers clear commercial value. It will suit someone who has previously partnered closely with a CTO, CIO or senior Technology leadership team and understands the financial dynamics of large-scale technology functions.

    Act as the primary finance partner to the Group CTO and Data & Technology leadership team

  • \n
  • \n

    Provide commercial insight, challenge and decision support on technology strategy, investment priorities and resource allocation

  • \n
  • \n

    Build and maintain the Data & Technology business plan, balancing transformation, growth and core infrastructure investment

  • \n
  • \n

    Develop robust business cases for technology investment, headcount and transformation initiatives, including ROI and benefits analysis

  • \n
  • \n

    Own the budgeting and rolling forecast process for Data & Technology and Group overheads

  • \n
  • \n

    Improve forecast accuracy, financial visibility and accountability across the cost base

  • \n
  • \n

    Establish clear governance and cost ownership, identifying efficiencies, duplication and opportunities for simplification

  • \n
  • \n

    Track savings initiatives, transformation benefits and the ongoing value delivered from technology spend

  • \n
  • \n

    Deliver accurate monthly reporting, dashboards and forward-looking insight on performance, risks and opportunities

  • \n
  • \n

    Lead improvements across the finance operating model, systems, data, reporting, AI and automation, working across Group and Divisional finance teams

  • \n
About you\n
    \n
  • \n

    Qualified accountant, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent

  • \n
  • \n

    Strong Finance Business Partnering experience within a large, complex organisation

  • \n
  • \n

    Demonstrable experience partnering directly with a CTO, CIO or senior Technology leadership team

  • \n
  • \n

    Strong understanding of technology cost bases, investment decisions and transformation programmes

  • \n
  • \n

    Experience supporting business cases for technology, data, systems, infrastructure or digital investment

  • \n
  • \n

    Significant exposure to budgeting, forecasting and performance management across a substantial overhead portfolio

  • \n
  • \n

    Strong commercial modelling, scenario analysis and investment appraisal capability

  • \n
  • \n

    Comfortable challenging senior stakeholders and influencing strategic decisions

  • \n
  • \n

    Proven ability to establish financial discipline, improve processes and drive operating model change

  • \n
  • \n

    Able to operate effectively in ambiguity and balance strategic partnering with hands-on delivery

  • \n
  • \n

    Experience within a complex, consumer-facing organisation would be advantageous

  • \n
