Finance Manager

We're looking for a commercially minded, hands-on Financial Manager to join a successful founder-led retail and e-commerce business.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys being at the heart of a business, working closely with Directors and influencing key commercial decisions. The role offers a blend of operational finance, strategic planning, commercial analysis and business improvement, making it ideal for an ambitious finance professional who wants to grow alongside an established and expanding brand.

The business operates a successful omnichannel model, with the majority of revenue generated through a strong online presence. As Financial Manager, you'll play a key role in helping the Directors maximise profitability, improve cash flow, identify efficiencies, and drive sustainable growth without significant infrastructure expansion.

We're seeking someone who can challenge the status quo, spot opportunities for cost savings, and deliver meaningful financial insight that supports better decision-making across the business.

The Role

Working directly with the Directors, you will:

• Produce accurate management accounts and financial reporting
\n
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management
\n
• Provide commercial analysis and recommendations to improve profitability
\n
• Identify cost-saving initiatives and operational efficiencies
\n
• Support pricing, margin and performance analysis across sales channels
\n
• Develop financial models and business cases to support growth plans
\n
• Ensure statutory compliance and oversee year-end processes
\n
• Support tax planning and work alongside external advisors
\n
• Manage payroll and day-to-day finance operations
\n
• Line manage and support an experienced Bookkeeper
\n
• Provide strategic financial guidance to support business objectives
\n

What We're Looking For

You will be a proactive finance professional who enjoys operating in a fast-paced SME environment and possesses the confidence to work closely with business owners.

Essential

\n
• Previous experience in a Finance Manager, Financial Controller, Management Accountant or similar role
\n
• Strong experience within an e-commerce and online retail environment
\n
• Experience using Shopify (Magenta or similar online sales platform.)
\n
• Strong working knowledge of Xero
\n
• Experience producing management accounts, budgets, forecasts and cash flow reporting
\n
• Commercially minded with a strong focus on profitability and business performance
\n
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
\n
• Ability to identify and implement process improvements and cost efficiencies
\n

Desirable

\n
• Qualified ACCA, ACA or CIMA
\n
• Experience within retail, fashion, lifestyle or consumer-led businesses
\n
• Experience with Magento or other online selling platforms
\n
• Experience working within a founder-led or owner-managed business
\n
• Strong understanding of omnichannel retail operations
\n
