Reporting to the Payroll Manager, your responsibilities will include:Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for:\n

  • Managing a portfolio of payroll clients, ensuring payrolls are processed accurately and on time
  • \n
  • Entering payroll information, carrying out audit and validation checks, and interfacing with General Ledger and pension systems
  • \n
  • Processing statutory payments, including SSP and SMP, in line with current legislation
  • \n
  • Completing year-end payroll activities and maintaining time and attendance system updates
  • \n
  • Overseeing the end-to-end payroll process, including pension auto enrolment administration
  • \n
  • Responding to payroll and pay-related queries, providing excellent support and advice to clients
  • \n
  • Reviewing and peer checking payrolls while working closely with colleagues across the payroll team
  • \n
  • Keeping up to date with payroll legislation, compliance requirements, and industry best practice
  • \n
What we're looking for:\n
    \n
  • A minimum of one year's experience in a Payroll Administrator, Payroll Officer, or Payroll Clerk position, ideally within a fast-paced bureau or accountancy environment
  • \n
  • Experience managing the full payroll cycle, including pensions, statutory payments, and employee benefits
  • \n
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a commitment to producing accurate work
  • \n
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
  • \n
  • A customer-focused approach with confidence handling queries via telephone and email
  • \n
  • The ability to remain calm under pressure and consistently meet deadlines
  • \n
  • Good understanding of current payroll legislation and auto enrolment requirements
  • \n
  • Confidence carrying out manual payroll calculations where required
  • \n
