Job Description

Commercial Finance Manager

\n

Bedfordshire

\n

£80,000 – £85,000 + bonus + benefits

\n

Hybrid working – minimum 3 days per week on site

\n

An international, product-led B2B distribution and e-commerce group is looking to appoint a Commercial Finance Manager to support its UK and Ireland business. This is a commercially focused finance role, working closely with senior stakeholders across commercial, sales and operations, while reporting to the Group Finance Director based in Europe. The role would suit someone who enjoys moving beyond reporting into genuine business partnering, using financial insight to influence decisions around growth, margin, working capital, cash and value creation.

\n

The company is a substantial European operator with a strong market position, broad customer base and complex supply chain. It continues to invest in digital capability, operational efficiency and commercial growth, with finance playing an important role in improving decision-making across the business.

\n

The Commercial Finance Manager will act as a key member of the local management team and will help shape performance management across the UK and Ireland business. The emphasis is on insight, challenge and action rather than simply producing numbers.

\n

Key responsibilities will include:

\n
    \n
  • Partnering with commercial and operational teams to support strategic and day-to-day decision-making.
  • \n
  • Providing financial insight on sales performance, margin, profitability, cash collection and return on invested capital.
  • \n
  • Identifying risks, opportunities and performance trends early, and helping the business respond with clear actions.
  • \n
  • Supporting the development and execution of local market plans, including growth, margin improvement and operational performance initiatives.
  • \n
  • Leading performance review processes and helping embed a more data-led approach to business planning and decision-making.
  • \n
  • Working closely with central finance teams on reporting, audit coordination, controls and finance operations.
  • \n
  • Improving the quality, relevance and commercial impact of financial information across the business.
  • \n
  • Supporting operational improvement activity across the UK and Ireland, including helping develop processes and performance standards across the Irish business.
  • \n
\n

The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant, ideally CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent, with strong commercial finance or business partnering experience. They are likely to have worked in a product-led, operational or multi-site environment such as B2B distribution, wholesale, retail, logistics, e-commerce, manufacturing, industrial products, automotive parts, building products, agriculture or similar.

\n

Strong candidates will be comfortable working with non-finance stakeholders, able to challenge constructively, and capable of translating financial analysis into practical business recommendations. Experience with ERP/reporting tools, ideally Oracle, would be useful, alongside strong Excel and analytical capability.

\n

This is a good opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional who wants a visible role in a sizeable international business, with direct exposure to senior leaders and a clear impact on business performance.

\n

The role is based in Bedfordshire and requires a minimum of three days per week on site. Due to the office location, candidates will need to be able to drive or have reliable access to the site.
