Family Solicitor

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Head of Family Solicitor to lead and develop a well-established Family Law department within a respected private practice in Wokingham. This is a key leadership role offering autonomy, strategic input, and genuine long-term progression.

This role is ideal for a Senior Family Solicitor, Family Partner or aspiring Head of Department who is confident managing a caseload, supervising junior staff, and driving business development.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Family Law team, overseeing performance, supervision, and development
\n
• Handle a high-quality caseload including:\n
  \n
  • Divorce and financial remedy matters
  \n
  • Private children work
  \n
  • Cohabitation disputes and TOLATA claims
  \n
  • Pre- and post-nuptial agreements
  \n
\n
• Develop and implement departmental growth strategy
\n
• Build and maintain strong client relationships and referral networks
\n
• Support fee earners with technical expertise and complex cases
\n
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards
\n

Requirements

\n
• Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with strong family law experience
\n
• Senior-level candidate (5+ PQE ideally) with leadership or supervisory experience
\n
• Proven track record in business development and client acquisition
\n
• Strong technical knowledge across a broad range of family law matters
\n
• Excellent communication and team leadership skills
\n

NQ Solicitors will not be suitable for this role due to the seniority required, however strong Senior Associates or Partners looking for a step up into a Head of Department role are encouraged to apply.
