HR & Payroll Manager - Near Truro - Full time and permanent site based role
\nWell Placed HR is delighted to have been exclusively retained to assit with the recruitment of an HR & Payroll Manager on behalf of a well-established and highly respected manufacturing business based near Truro.
\nEmploying around 200 people, this family-owned business has built an excellent reputation both in the UK and internationally. As the company continues to grow, they're looking for an experienced HR professional to take ownership of the HR function while overseeing the monthly payroll process.
\nThe HR & Payroll Manager will report to the Finance Director. You'll be supported by a close-knit team and enjoy a varied role where no two days are the same. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact across employee relations, recruitment, engagement and people development, whilst ensuring payroll is delivered accurately and on time through an external payroll bureau. You will be offered the autonomy to make the role your own.
\nAs HR & Payroll Manager you will be responsible for:
\n- Leading the day-to-day HR function, providing advice and support to managers and employees.
\n- Managing the monthly payroll process, including checking timesheets and payroll data before submission to the external payroll provider (no payroll calculations required).
\n- Supporting recruitment, onboarding and employee retention initiatives.
\n- Advising managers on employee relations matters and HR best practice
\n- Helping to drive employee engagement, training and development.
\n- Ensuring HR policies and procedures remain compliant with employment legislation.
\n- Working closely with the Finance Director and wider management team to support business objectives.
\nThe HR & Payroll Manager will ideally have:
\n- Previous experience in a generalist HR role with responsibility for employee relations.
\n- Experience overseeing payroll administration within a business of 50+ employees.
\n- Strong knowledge of HR best practice and employment legislation.
\n- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
\n- A proactive, organised and approachable style.
\n- Previous experience within manufacturing, engineering or another industrial environment would be advantageous.
\n- A CIPD qualification would be beneficial but is not essential.
\nThis HR & Payroll Manager role is offered on a full time and permanent basis, with working hours of Monday – Friday 8:00am - 4:15pm. You will be based on site near Truro.
