Interim Logistics Manager
\nLocation: South WalesContract: Interim (5-6 Months)Salary: Competitive Day Rate / FTC Salary
\nOur client is a highly successful importer and distributor with a turnover of approximately £100m, a 20-year history, and a strong family-oriented culture. The business manages over 1,000 containers annually, importing products from China, Egypt, Turkey and the USA.
\nDue to a business requirement, they are seeking an experienced Interim Logistics Manager to join the organisation for an initial 5-6 month period. This role would suit an experienced logistics professional who can quickly integrate into the business, provide operational leadership, maintain continuity, and identify opportunities to improve existing processes and efficiencies.
\nKey Responsibilities

- Lead and coordinate all logistics and customs-related activities. \n
- Liaise with overseas factories, suppliers and internal stakeholders. \n
- Manage relationships with freight forwarders and transport providers. \n
- Oversee import and export administration processes. \n
- Coordinate activity across finance, operations and supply chain teams. \n
- Monitor container movements and transportation schedules. \n
- Manage supplier communications and shared logistics inboxes. \n
- Ensure goods are moved efficiently and cost-effectively through the supply chain. \n
- Review current logistics processes and recommend improvements where appropriate. \n
- Support business continuity during a key operational period. \n
About You
\nWe're looking for a candidate who can hit the ground running and has previous experience managing international import/export logistics operations.
\nYou will ideally have:
\n- \n
- Proven experience in a Logistics Manager, Shipping Manager, Import/Export Manager or Supply Chain Manager role. \n
- Strong understanding of international freight and container movements. \n
- Experience working with freight forwarders and third-party logistics providers. \n
- Good understanding of customs processes and import/export administration. \n
- Knowledge of Incoterms \n
- Ability to work cross-functionally with finance, commercial and operational teams. \n
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills. \n
- A continuous improvement mindset with the ability to identify operational efficiencies. \n
