Our Client:Mackie Myers have partnered with a growing organisation in Oxfordshire to appoint a Financial Accountant into their finance team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a business during an exciting period of growthThe Role:The Financial Accountant is responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting, managing the month-end process and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. The role also supports audit, tax, budgeting and process improvements while partnering with stakeholders across the business.Main duties:\n

• Prepare monthly and annual financial reports.
\n
• Manage month-end close, including journals, accruals and prepayments.
\n
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.
\n
• Prepare VAT returns and support statutory accounts and year-end audit.
\n
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and cashflow reporting.
\n
• Maintain strong financial controls and ensure compliance with UK accounting standards.
\n
• Support process improvements and finance systems enhancements.
\n
• Partner with stakeholders to provide financial analysis and insight.
\n

The Successful Candidate:\n

\n
• ACA or ACCA Qualified (or equivalent).
\n
• Previous financial accounting experience, ideally within industry or practice.
\n
• Strong understanding of UK GAAP (FRS 102), statutory reporting and VAT.
\n
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP/accounting systems.
\n
• Strong analytical, communication and organisational skills.
\n
• Proactive, detail-oriented and committed to continuous improvement.
\n
