Credit Controller

Headstar
Leeds, ENG, GB Full Time

Job Description

If you're a Credit Controller who enjoys building relationships rather than simply chasing debt, this could be worth exploring.

\n

This isn't a role where you're left working through an aged debt report all day. You'll have ownership of your ledger, work closely with stakeholders across the business, and play a key role in improving cash flow while delivering an excellent customer experience.

\n

It's an environment with plenty of variety, where your opinion is valued and you'll have the autonomy to solve problems rather than simply escalate them.

\n

What you'll be doing:

\n
    \n
  • Taking ownership of your customer portfolio, ensuring invoices are collected within agreed payment terms.
  • \n
  • Building strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders to resolve payment issues before they become problems.
  • \n
  • Managing overdue debt via phone and email while maintaining accurate records of all activity.
  • \n
  • Investigating and resolving invoice queries and disputes.
  • \n
  • Completing account reconciliations and supporting cash allocation where required.
  • \n
  • Working with customer portals and ensuring invoicing processes run smoothly.
  • \n
  • Monitoring payment trends and identifying risks early, proposing practical solutions.
  • \n
  • Supporting the wider finance team with reporting, credit notes and continuous process improvements.
  • \n
\n

\n

What they're looking for:

\n

You'll already have experience in a busy credit control environment and be someone who enjoys speaking with people just as much as working with numbers.

\n

You'll also bring:

\n
    \n
  • Previous Credit Control experience with ownership of a sales ledger.
  • \n
  • Strong communication skills and confidence dealing with stakeholders at every level.
  • \n
  • Good Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
  • \n
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • \n
  • The ability to prioritise a busy workload and stay on top of deadlines.
  • \n
  • A proactive mindset, you don't wait for problems to find you.
  • \n
\n

\n

What's in it for you?

\n
    \n
  • An annual salary of up to £32k (depending on experience)
  • \n
  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays
  • \n
  • Hybrid working
  • \n
  • Career progression and opportunities
  • \n
\n

This is a chance to join a business that invests in its people, encourages internal progression and offers the stability that comes with a highly successful global business.

\n

You'll be joining a supportive finance team where collaboration is genuinely encouraged, and where your contribution has a direct impact on the wider business.
