Assistant Management Accountant

Circa £35,000 | Full time, permenant | Wigan

Accountable Recruitment are working with a well-established, growing organisation to recruit an Assistant Management Accountant to join their finance team.

With operations spanning multiple locations this business provides a great opportunity to gain wide-ranging exposure in a fast-paced, commercially focused environment.

Working closely with the finance team, you will support the day-to-day running of the finance function, oversee transactional processes, and contribute to accurate and timely financial reporting.

This is a varied position offering hands-on involvement across both operational and management accounting activities.

Key duties will include:

• Supporting the business with the smooth running of the finance function
\n
• Supervising and providing guidance to members of the accounts team
\n
• Assisting with the production of monthly management accounts
\n
• Preparing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating variances
\n
• Reconciling asset profitability between operational records and financial reporting
\n
• Maintaining accurate fixed asset/stock records and supporting periodic stock checks
\n
• Preparing payroll data for submission to an outsourced provider
\n
• Completing VAT returns
\n
• Supporting cashbook processes, including payments and receipts
\n
• Managing and reconciling creditor balances
\n
• Identifying opportunities to enhance processes, controls, and efficiencies
\n

• Previous experience in a similar management accounts or finance role
\n
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail
\n
• Confident user of Excel
\n
• Experience with finance systems
\n
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
\n
• Proactive, resilient, and solutions-oriented mindset
\n
• Strong communication skills with a positive, can-do approach
\n
