Project Engineer - Electrical/Electro Mechanical
Job Description
Our client, a global Aerospace systems manufacturer, is seeking an Electrical/Electro Mechanical Project Engineer to join their dynamic engineering team based in Slough. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in the design, development, and delivery of innovative electrical and mechanical products that support cutting-edge aerospace applications.
\nYou’ll be responsible for leading new product development projects — from concept through to delivery — ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to specification. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you’ll bring together technical design expertise, project management capability, and a passion for problem-solving in a fast-paced, high-precision environment.
\nKey Responsibilities

- Lead and support engineering development projects in line with company strategy and customer requirements. \n
- Manage New Product Introduction (NPI) activities using structured engineering processes. \n
- Define project objectives, create detailed project plans, and manage work packages to deliver key milestones. \n
- Produce and maintain technical documentation, project dashboards, and progress reports. \n
- Design and develop mechanical and electrical components using CATIA or similar CAD tools. \n
- Conduct Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and implement corrective actions. \n
- Apply “design for manufacture,” “design to cost,” and “design for inspection” principles. \n
- Liaise with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to resolve technical challenges. \n
- Support R&D initiatives and contribute to new product concepts and technology roadmaps. \n
- Ensure compliance with quality, health & safety, and environmental standards. \n
- Occasional travel to customer and supplier sites in the UK and overseas. \n
About You
\n- \n
- Degree qualified in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electro-Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience). \n
- Proven experience in project or design engineering within a manufacturing or aerospace environment. \n
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical design principles. \n
- Skilled in CAD tools (CATIA, SolidWorks, or equivalent). \n
- Experienced in project progress reporting, RFQs, and technical documentation. \n
- Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities. \n
- Knowledge of aerospace industry standards and interconnect products (advantageous). \n
- Flexible to occasionally travel within the UK and internationally. \n
