We are delighted to be partnering with a well-established international organisation to recruit a Financial Accountant for their finance team based in Biggleswade. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly reputable business operating within a global group environment, offering exposure to statutory reporting, treasury, VAT, fixed assets and financial controls.Your new role

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in supporting the financial accounting function and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting across the business. Key responsibilities will include:

• Supporting treasury activities, VAT reporting and statutory reporting requirements
\n
• Preparing and posting monthly journals, accruals and prepayments
\n
• Performing balance sheet reconciliations and supporting month-end close processes
\n
• Maintaining and reconciling the fixed asset register
\n
• Ensuring investments are authorised and accounted for correctly
\n
• Assisting with internal and external audits and providing supporting documentation
\n
• Supporting financial control processes and regulatory compliance requirements
\n
• Assisting with finance projects and system implementation activities
\n
• Identifying opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency
\n
• Working collaboratively with stakeholders across the wider business
\n

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will have:

\n
• CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualification (although AAT and qualified by experience will also be considered)
\n
• Strong understanding of journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations
\n
• Experience using accounting software packages
\n
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs
\n
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
\n
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders
\n
• A proactive approach and willingness to learn and develop
\n
