Job Description
Reed Accountancy are currently assisting an established client in the local area in the recruitment of a Payroll Specialist on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role is integral to the team, which plays a crucial role in ensuring the firm operates effectively within a tightly-regulated field. Based in Gatwick this role will be working within an established team to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
\nDay-to-day of the role:

- Accurately input payroll data into the payroll software (Workday). \n
- Ensure all payroll-related deadlines are met. \n
- Provide excellent customer service support on the Payroll Services Helpdesk via email, telephone, and tickets. \n
- Liaise with HR/Reward/Benefit Teams to ensure data accuracy. \n
- Assist in the checking of payroll data input and prepare, check, and process manual payments. \n
- Calculate statutory payments such as Maternity Pay, Parental Pay, Paternity Pay, and Sick Pay. \n
- Assist with the controls governing payroll processes and suggest improvements to maintain excellence. \n
- Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in payroll processing. \n
- Ensure compliance with HMRC legislation and stay updated on legislative changes. \n
Required Skills & Qualifications:

- Proven payroll experience in a similar-sized organisation. \n
- Strong numeracy and meticulous attention to detail. \n
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel (including Lookups, formulas, and pivot tables), and Word. \n
- A qualification in payroll or currently studying for a professional payroll qualification is highly desirable. \n
- Previous experience using Workday payroll software is advantageous. \n
- In-depth knowledge of HMRC regulations. \n
- Ability to handle sensitive situations and maintain confidentiality. \n
