Logistics Assistant
\nLocation: South WalesContract: PermanentSalary: £25,000 - £30,000 (DOE)
\nOur client is a well-established importer and distributor with a turnover of approximately £100m, handling over 1,000 containers each year from global suppliers across China, Egypt, Turkey and the USA.
\nThey are looking for an ambitious and organised Logistics Assistant to join their growing team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone with some logistics, transport, supply chain or shipping experience who is looking to develop a long-term career within international logistics.
\nKey Responsibilities

- Support the day-to-day administration of import and export activities. \n
- Liaise with freight forwarders, suppliers and internal departments. \n
- Assist with container tracking and transport monitoring. \n
- Process logistics documentation and maintain accurate records. \n
- Support communication between logistics, finance and operational teams. \n
- Monitor shared inboxes and respond to supplier queries. \n
- Assist with customs and shipping administration. \n
- Update internal systems and provide operational support to the wider team. \n
About You
\nThis role would suit someone who has some exposure to logistics, shipping, transport, customs administration or supply chain operations and is looking for a role where they can learn and develop.

We are looking for:

- Previous experience in an office-based logistics, transport or supply chain role. \n
- Good administrative and organisational skills. \n
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail. \n
- Confidence working with internal and external stakeholders. \n
- An interest in international trade and freight movements. \n
- Working knowledge of FOB terms or import/export processes would be advantageous but not essential. \n
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and business systems. \n
