Android Developer - 3 months with likely extension - 1 day per week in Glasgow - Circa £400 per day inside ir35My client is a global leading IT consultancy. They are on the hunt for a number of Android Developers who are passionate about building high quality mobile applications with customer needs at the centre of every decision.Your responsibilities will include:Developing and maintaining features across our Android applicationsCollaborating closely with cross functional teams to deliver high quality digital productsBuilding intuitive, visually engaging, and user friendly mobile experiencesWriting clean, scalable, maintainable, and testable Kotlin codeSupporting development activities across the ScottishPower family of Digital platformsDriving continuous improvement across development processes, tooling, and customer experiencesIdentifying opportunities to enhance app performance, usability, and engineering practicesWorking collaboratively with Analysts, Designers, and Testers to deliver solutions aligned to stakeholder and customer needsContributing to technical discussions, architecture decisions, and code reviewsSupporting the delivery of Digital objectives through innovation and engineering best practicesSkills:Strong commercial experience with Kotlin and/or JavaExperience using Android StudioExperience building Android applications using MVVM architectureStrong understanding of Jetpack ComposeFamiliarity with Android Jetpack libraries such as LiveData, Navigation Component/NavGraph, and local persistence solutions such as ObjectBoxExperience working with Coroutines for asynchronous programmingComfortable integrating with RESTful APIs using tools such as RetrofitFamiliarity with version control systems such as GitExperience with GradleUnderstanding of the Google Play release processExperience working within Agile/Scrum delivery teamsStrong debugging and problem-solving skillsThis temporary contract is inside IR35 and will require working under the direction of the client delivery manager as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
