\n £20,632- £21,736 (27.5hours per week -whole year working, 45 week model)
\n Letham Primary School
We are looking for an enthusiastic, nurturing and innovative Pupil Support Assistant (PSA) to join our large, friendly team within Letham Early Years and Childcare Centre which is a 2years to 12 years service. This post is a one year maternity cover to start from Monday 17th August 2026.
\nThis post is working 45 weeks a year and will involve working some of the school holidays and may also include working within other PKC settings in the holidays.
\nYou will help to support pupils age 2 years to 12 years individually and in small groups to help meet a range of complex learning needs and work closely with practitioners.
\nThe PSA role is varied and may include supporting children and young people who present with needs which may include:
\nSocial and Emotional
\n Learning
\n Communication
\n Physical
\n Personal Care.
\n Some children may present with distressed and challenging behaviour as a result of these needs.
The PSA may have a role in supporting positive behaviour management and individual Child support plans.
\nThis post is 27.5 hours per week over 45 weeks of the year, between 9am – 3pm, Monday to Friday.
\nAnnual Leave would be set with these weeks: Week 2 of Easter and week 2 of October holidays, last 3 weeks of summer holidays and all December holidays
\nFor our permanent Pupil Support Assistant posts, the role will be permanent to Perth & Kinross Council but the location of the role may change based on requirement.
\nPlease note, we are currently unable to offer sponsorship for this post.
Skills & Experience Required\nYou will also be able to demonstrate an ability to work effectively within a team and on your own initiative.
\nYou will have excellent communication skills and a positive approach to working with children.
\nA knowledge of a wide range of learning needs and how to foster positive relationships would be an advantage.
\nA knowledge of behaviour management strategies and how to foster positive relationships would be an advantage.
\nAs a PSA, you will also need to demonstrate a commitment to achieving the required qualification within the timescales set by the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
