Finance and Commercial Director

STS Marine Solutions is inviting internal applications for the role of Finance and Commercial Director, based in Sunderland, reporting to the Managing Director.

The Finance & Commercial Director is a senior leadership role responsible for the financial stewardship, governance, and performance of STS Marine Solutions, a subsidiary within Breakwater Investments. The role ensures that the company’s financial operations, reporting, and controls are robust, compliant, and fully aligned with both local business objectives and group financial policies and requirements.

As a key member of the Senior Management Team, the Finance & Commercial Director works closely with the Managing Director to support the delivery of the company’s strategic objectives, while also maintaining a functional reporting relationship with the Group CFO to ensure consistency of financial reporting, accounting policy, treasury, and control frameworks across the group.

THE REQUIREMENTS\n

We are seeking applications from qualified Chartered Accountants (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with significant senior finance leadership experience, including a proven track record in financial strategy, planning, governance, treasury, cash management and risk control, alongside strong commercial expertise covering contract management, legal and commercial oversight, board and group reporting, and the ability to contribute effectively at executive level; ideally, candidates will also bring experience gained within a private equity-backed, growth-focused or multi‑entity international organisation, with exposure to IFRS reporting, intercompany accounting, transfer pricing, strategic transformation and business growth, supported by a postgraduate qualification in finance, business or leadership.
