Materials Handler / FLT Driver

We are looking for an experienced Materials Handler/ FLT Driver to join Operations team in an established family-owned business in Leeds (LS11). Our client is a leading manufacturer and supplier of electrical power distribution equipment and pioneers of super low loss amorphous transformer technology.The Role has a variety of responsibilities to keep you busy throughout the day:Your core duties will be loading and unloading of various types of distribution and power transformers utilising the overhead crane.Transporting and processing various materials across two sites using FLT and Company vanUsing general workshop machinery and hand tools related the roleQuality inspection of colleagues outputMaximise the uptime of operations by delivering materials in a timely mannerPerformance of area housekeeping activities, including the prompt reporting of problems shortages or equipment breakdownSkills, Knowledge & Experience:Hands on experience of working within a manufacturing environment is essentialCounter Balance FLT essential to 7 tonnesFull driving licence essentialOverhead crane/lifting slinging experience is desirableExperience of working within a mechanical/electrical engineering environment is desirable .The ability to understand mechanical and schematic drawings is desirableHave good written and verbal communication skillsExperience of working collaboratively with other operations personnelIdeally experience of working within a continuous improvement environmentCan do attitude with the ability to work unsupervised using own initiativeFlexible approach with hours and a willingness to work across other areas of the businessGood attention to detailSalary and benefits:Salary negotiable25 days holiday per year plus 8 bank holidaysCompany Profit Share Scheme (paid qtrly, currently running at 20% of annual salary)Two paid breaksNine-day fortnight (37.5 hrs) Every other Friday offSuperb canteen facility3 x salary death in serviceHealthcare scheme and wellbeing scheme4 weeks full pay paternity/maternity leavePensionEV Scheme and on site chargersParking on siteWorking Hours 37.5 (Nine Day Fortnight):Week 1 7.45 am and 4.45 pm Monday to Thursday (Friday off)Week 2 7.45 am to 4.45 pm Monday to Thursday and 7.45 am to 15.15 pm on FridayJob Types: Full-time, PermanentBenefits:Company pensionExperience:Manufacturing: 1 year (required)Licence/Certification:Driving Licence (required)Counter Balance FLT (required)Work Location: In personTPBN1_UKTJ
