A passionate organisation is seeking a Finance Officer to join its close-knit finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. Based in Coventry, this is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive finance professional to take ownership of a broad range of finance responsibilities while supporting the smooth running of a busy organisation.

This role is offered on a part-time basis, with flexibility for between 20 and 25 hours per week, making it an excellent opportunity for someone looking to balance a varied finance role with flexible working hours.

Please note: the successful candidate must be available to start in August.

\n

The key responsibilities of the Finance Officer are:

  • Managing the purchase ledger, sales ledger and daily banking activities, ensuring financial transactions are processed accurately and efficiently.
  • \n
  • Processing supplier invoices, preparing payment runs and allocating incoming receipts.
  • \n
  • Completing bank, petty cash and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial records.
  • \n
  • Monitoring outstanding debtor balances and supporting credit control activities where required.
  • \n
  • Producing monthly financial reports, reconciliations and supporting schedules for the wider finance team.
  • \n
  • Assisting with budget monitoring, cash flow reporting and the preparation of financial information.
  • \n
  • Supporting the year-end process and providing information for the external audit.
  • \n
  • Processing the monthly payroll, ensuring starters, leavers and payroll amendments are administered accurately.
  • \n
  • Maintaining payroll records and liaising with external bodies where required.
  • \n
  • Providing general finance and administrative support to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the finance function.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous experience working in a Finance Officer or similar all-round finance position.
  • \n
  • Strong experience across purchase ledger, sales ledger and bank reconciliations.
  • \n
  • Previous payroll processing experience.
  • \n
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage a varied workload independently.
  • \n
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • \n
  • Good experience using finance systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • \n
  • A proactive, adaptable and hands-on approach to work.
  • \n
  • Be available to commence the role in August.
  • \n
