Lecturer in Sport & UPS

Brockenhurst College is looking to recruit a permanent, part time Lecturer in Sport & Uniformed Public Service (UPS). In return,you will receive a competitive salary of £33,367 - £44,365 per annum (pro rata). (Unqualified teachers £26,436 to £33,367 per annum (pro rata)).

The Lecturer in Sport & UPS Role:

As our Lecturer in Sport & UPS, you will continually improve the learning experience and achievement of students through effective teaching & learning.

Responsibilities as our Lecturer in Sport & UPS:

\n
• Teach on courses as agreed with the Director of Faculty, Curriculum Leader and the Curriculum Coordinators
\n
• Act as Course Coordinator, if requested.
\n
• Prepare and mark student work, monitor progress towards individual targets, keep records, IV and provide timely reports/reviews to students, parents, employers and College managers, as appropriate.
\n
• Work closely with other colleagues to respond to the needs of students.
\n
• Pay due attention to the principles of inclusive learning including:
\n
• extension resources/activities for students of higher ability;
\n
• general resources, including the use of Information Learning Technology;
\n
• Support for student with learning difficulties and disabilities
\n
• Contribute to the design, delivery and future planning and development of the curriculum.
\n
• Contribute to the teaching/learning resource bank including e resources for the relevant subject/courses.
\n
• Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of developments in the relevant subject/course.
\n
• Develop and maintain effective external links related to the delivery of the subject/course and represent the College at relevant meetings.
\n
• Organise and participate in relevant visits, field trips, both in the UK and overseas.
\n
• Attend and contribute to relevant meetings, including Enrolment/Open Events and Parents' Evening, as appropriate.
\n
• Advise and assist the Curriculum Leader and other team members in all matters related to the delivery of subject specialisms.
\n

As our Lecturer in Sport & UPS, you'll ideally have:

• Degree or equivalent professional qualification
\n
• Appropriate teacher training qualification (or working towards this)
\n
• Excellent teaching skills
\n
• Able to manage learners and learning effectively
\n
• Able to develop effective learning resources
\n
• Knowledge and understating of current developments in the relevant curriculum area
\n
• Supportive and positive approach to teaching and learning
\n
• Effective team player
\n
• Good administrative and organisational skills
\n
• Able to meet tight deadlines and handle pressure and a range of demands
\n
