Legal Assistant Paralegal
Job Description
Our client is seeking an experienced Personal Injury Paralegal / Legal Assistant to join its growing team. This role focuses on the pre-suit handling of personal injury claims and is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who can independently manage case files, communicate effectively with clients and insurance carriers, and assist attorneys throughout the pre-litigation process.
Key ResponsibilitiesManage pre-suit personal injury cases from intake through settlement preparation.
Communicate with clients, insurance adjusters, medical providers, and lienholders.
Open insurance claims and maintain ongoing claim correspondence.
Obtain and organize medical records, billing records, and lien information.
Prepare medical billing summaries and assist clients with PIP applications.
Maintain accurate case files and ensure timely follow-up on all matters.
Assist attorneys with case management and general pre-litigation support.
Minimum 3 years of experience as a Personal Injury Paralegal, Legal Assistant, or Legal Secretary.
Minimum 3 years of experience handling personal injury claims.

Bodily Injury (BI)
Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist (UM/UIM)
Personal Injury Protection (PIP)
Medical Payments Coverage (MedPay)
Health insurance claims and coverage

Experience:
Opening insurance claims
Obtaining medical records and billing records
Preparing medical billing summaries
Assisting clients with PIP applications
Obtaining health insurance lien information

Microsoft Word
Microsoft Excel
Microsoft Outlook
Adobe Acrobat
Google Chrome
Excellent telephone and written communication skills.
Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Ability to communicate professionally with clients, medical providers, and insurance adjusters.
Must be available Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
Must successfully pass a criminal background check.
Must reside in or near Hernando, Pasco, Citrus, or Sumter County, Florida.
Experience working for an insurance company, insurance agency, or medical billing company.
Experience with Clio case management software.
Spanish language proficiency.
Cheerful, positive attitude with a professional telephone manner.
Compensation
$30.00 - $40.00 per hour, based on experience.
