Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A per diem pharmacist opportunity is available in a behavioral health hospital setting located in Springdale, AR. This role primarily focuses on weekend and paid time off (PTO) coverage, requiring one weekend per month plus additional PTO coverage as needed. The position supports 1.2 full-time equivalent pharmacists, functioning independently on weekends without technician support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately fill medication orders and deliver medications to medication rooms.
  • Maintain Omnicell automation systems and floor stock.
  • Review clinical data to assess and process medication orders appropriately for patients.
  • Collaborate with physicians to discuss patient treatment plans, medication interactions, and provide clinical support.
  • Act as a resource for nurses, physicians, and patients by addressing medication-related inquiries.

Qualifications:

  • Active Arkansas pharmacy license.
  • Experience in hospital inpatient or retail pharmacy settings.
  • Familiarity with hospital automation systems, specifically Omnicell, is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize clinical decision-making.
  • Strong communication skills for working effectively with interdisciplinary medical teams.

Schedule:

  • Weekdays 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
  • Weekends 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
  • One weekend per month plus PTO coverage on designated operating days (DOP).

Additional Details:

  • Mandatory orientation on August 10-11.
  • Training starting the week of August 17.
  • Coverage beginning August 22-23 with ongoing weekend and holiday shifts.
  • No pharmacy technician support during weekend shifts.
  • System used for order entry is HCS; training provided.
