Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teacher of the Deaf & Hard of Hearing (DHH) to provide direct instructional services and specialized support for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with educators, families, and related service providers to ensure students have equitable access to educational opportunities and achieve their academic goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct instruction and specialized educational services to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
- Adapt curriculum, instructional materials, and classroom accommodations to meet individual student needs.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, special education staff, and related service providers to support student success.
- Participate in IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring.
- Conduct ongoing assessments and maintain accurate student records and documentation.
- Support students' communication, academic, and social-emotional development.
- Consult with families and school personnel regarding strategies and accommodations for student success.
- Attend team meetings, professional development sessions, and required school-based activities.
QualificationsRequired
- Valid Arizona Teacher of the Deaf & Hard of Hearing (DHH) Certification
- Current Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Strong knowledge of special education procedures, accommodations, and best practices for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
