Special Education Teacher in San Antonio, TX

Seeking experienced Special Education Teachers to provide dedicated instruction and support in Life Skills (RISE) classrooms for the upcoming academic year. These contract roles offer the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of K-5th or 6-12th grade students, focusing on personalized education for small groups with significant support needs. Positions are available beginning August 11 and run through May 25, with consistent hours from 8:00am to 4:00pm, totaling 37.5 hours per week. Exact school assignments within the San Antonio area will be provided prior to your start.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Special Education (SPED) certification and core content certification required
• Previous experience teaching in special education settings, particularly with Life Skills or RISE classes, strongly preferred
• Ability to deliver differentiated instruction and adapt lessons to meet a wide range of needs
• Strong collaboration skills to work with teaching teams, aides, and support staff
• Compassion and patience for supporting students with diverse abilities and behavioral needs

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s strengths and challenges
• Create engaging lesson plans that address academic, social, and life skills objectives
• Foster a classroom environment that is safe, inclusive, and supportive of each learner
• Monitor and report progress, communicating effectively with families and colleagues
