Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for a school-based FMLA leave position covering several sites near Liberty, MO. This assignment runs from August 24th through September 25th and may be extended, allowing you to utilize your expertise while enjoying meaningful work in a flexible, school-based environment.

You will serve a diverse caseload across multiple campuses: an elementary school, a high school, another elementary, and a middle school. With guidance at the outset of the year, you’ll enjoy autonomy in creating and managing your own weekly schedule, ensuring each student on your assigned caseload receives dedicated therapy time. The caseload includes about 32 direct students, requiring approximately 800 minutes of service weekly.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active COTA license in Missouri
  • Prior experience in school-based or pediatric settings preferred
  • Ability to travel between multiple school sites
  • Excellent time management and self-organization skills
  • Strong communication and documentation abilities

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct therapy services to a designated caseload of students each week
  • Collaborate with educational staff and families to support student success
  • Create and maintain accurate documentation in accordance with school district policies
  • Establish your own schedule (with initial oversight) to meet caseload needs
  • Attend team meetings and participate in IEP processes as requested
