A hospital inpatient pharmacist role is available for an 8-week contract beginning August 3rd in Philadelphia, PA. This position involves reviewing and dispensing physician-ordered medications within an inpatient hospital setting. The pharmacist ensures appropriateness by checking drug, dose, route, frequency, allergies, interactions, lab results, and patient history before dispensing.

Key responsibilities include maintaining accurate medication inventory control, providing drug information support to healthcare colleagues, and supervising pharmacy students and technicians to ensure safety and accuracy in medication preparation. Collaboration with the healthcare team is essential to support continuum of care and discharge planning.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy is required; Doctorate (PharmD) preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of hospital experience or completion of Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) in a clinical setting preferred
  • Active PA Pharmacist License required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
  • 40 hours per week, 5 days of 8-hour shifts
