Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification (state-specific requirements apply)
- Previous experience working in a special education classroom, resource room, or inclusion setting
- Strong knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and compliance
- Excellent communication skills to build relationships with students, families, and staff
- Patience, flexibility, and a positive, collaborative attitude
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students’ unique academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs
- Adapt instructional materials and strategies to accommodate varying learning styles and abilities
- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where every student feels valued
- Conduct assessments, track student progress, and document results for ongoing evaluation
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, specialists, and parents to maximize student success
- Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and school-wide initiatives as needed
