Job Description
Step into a dynamic teaching role in a vibrant middle school setting near Philadelphia, PA, as a vital resource for general education students. This full-time, onsite contract position runs from August 24, 2026, through June 10, 2027, offering a 35-hour workweek immersed in science curriculum and classroom engagement.
You’ll teach a dedicated caseload of general education middle school science students, with a possibility of working alongside special education colleagues to support a diverse learning community—without direct SPED case management. Your ability to bring subject mastery, instructional creativity, and state-aligned lesson planning will foster academic success and classroom connection.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active teaching certification/licensure appropriate for the caseload
- Bachelor’s degree (required for emergency teaching permit consideration)
- Proven school-based teaching experience, especially in urban settings
- Successful completion of Pennsylvania clearances
- Reliable transportation and punctuality between 8:30 AM–4:00 PM
- Demonstrated expertise in classroom and behavioral management
- Confidence and adaptability within district guidelines and campus culture
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with state and district science standards
- Use formative assessments and differentiated instruction to address varied student needs
- Collaborate with fellow educators and SPED teams to ensure student success
