Job Description
Make a difference in the lives of young learners as a school nurse, supporting PreK through 2nd grade students in an engaging and caring campus environment. This full-time, onsite contract opportunity offers the chance to directly support student health and well-being from August 17, 2026, through June 18, 2027, with a consistent weekday schedule of 8 AM to 4 PM.
Successful candidates will play a vital role working alongside staff to manage everyday health needs, respond to emergencies, and promote a safe, nurturing school setting. Both RNs and LPNs are encouraged to apply, provided they are licensed in Massachusetts and have the necessary school-based experience.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Hold a current, valid Massachusetts RN or LPN license
- Direct experience in a school-based nursing setting required
- Comfortable supporting PreK-2nd grade students in a busy campus environment
- Able to successfully complete fingerprinting and CORI background check before starting
- Must have reliable transportation for daily onsite work
- Flexible, proactive, and compassionate in managing health needs for young children
- Available to work the full required schedule (8 AM–4 PM, Monday through Friday); no exceptions for alternative hours or remote work
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to students and staff on-site
- Assess and treat minor illnesses and injuries
- Administer prescribed medications and manage chronic health conditions
- Maintain accurate and confidential student health records
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies and implement care plans as needed
- Promote a healthy, safe learning environment for all students
